In 1956, Fred was discharged to the U.S. Naval Reserve and he then returned to Purdue University to complete his postgraduate studies in Food Science in the School of Agriculture. His doctorate degree was conferred June, 1959.
Barbara June Aust, of Hallsville, Missouri and Fred were married at the University of Missouri's A.E. Green Chapel, Columbia, Missouri, on 3 June 1961. Barbara and Fred have four children, Angela Ruth, Fred William III, Aimee Elizabeth and Desiree Geneva. The have one grandchild. Their home of nearly forty-two years is at 445 Lewis Lane, Fremont, Michigan 49412.
Fred has worked as a Food Scientist for the Quartermaster Food and Container Institute for the Armed Forces (QMF&CI), Chicago, Illinois; W.O. They have collected family data throughout the United States and Europe and are now assembling the materials into book form suitable for publication within the near future.
