Q. What happened to the writing
track?
A.
Time at the retreat was re-evaluated. All
content has been included, but now writer's don't have to make a choice
between writing and genealogy! All writing content has been included
in the main track.
Q. I'd like to come, but what if
I can't afford the cost in a single payment?
A. If you prefer, you can charge it to Visa or MasterCard for a 5% user
fee. If this doesn't appeal, contact us about making payments.
Q. Though the full package is
economical for all inclusive, is there any way I can come for less?
A1.
Referral Bonuses! Once you have paid your registration, earn a $5.00
referral bonus for every
regular paid registration (Speakers and Returnees not applicable) who
verify you referred them. Referral
bonus (refund) checks will be included in camp packets. Attendees can
earn free registration this way. Accepted/paid speakers have no
limit.
A2. This year we are offering a la carte registration. Come to as
many or as few sessions as you want to. The cost is $20 per session and
includes only that single session. If you are interested in many lectures, you
can actually save money by getting the full deal - If you attend 12
lectures, at $20 that is $240.00 tuition for the lectures only - you can
enjoy the whole weekend for $205.00.
Q. What if I want to come, but
can't make "check in", would like to combine this with seeing friends,
or need to leave early?
A. While we like to foster the "back to camp" atmosphere, we can make
any arrival/departure arrangements you need to. Please be advised
though, the earlier you let us know, the more seamless your plans will
fit into the larger agenda.

Q. Will there be lots of shopping
opportunities?
A. No - no vendor/exhibitor space is being sold, as the retreat should
be free of all stresses, including what books can you buy with this
month's budget. However, speakers may have supporting source
material for sale. Additionally, you'll be able to catalog shop with the
items in your goodie bags - and your free wi-fi.
Q. Where will the sessions take
place exactly?
A. Unless we have an extremely low turn out, most sessions will take
place in the Stonebrook Inn meeting room the Retreat has reserved. We may also go outside if the weather is good.
Extremely small If we have very few
folk, we may relax and recline in a guest room suite while soaking up all the
data we can. There may be some special offerings such as a session
or two at a nearby cemetery, if you wish to carpool, for related topics
(currently grave dowsing and stone rubbing are on the list).
Q. Will there be vending
machines?
A. Yes - However, being both on the lake, and at the edge of town makes
for easy runs to get just about anything you desire: Braums before 10 PM
is on this side of town, Grove even has a Walgreens. You can even order
take out/delivery to your room!
Q. I only drink decaffeinated
coffee, will it be available?
A. Stonebrook takes great care of us! In addition to decaf coffee
and hot chocolate mix available in the lobby (just off the meeting room), they generally have
the cappuccino machine going! Additionally, each sleeping room has their
own coffee maker.

Q. What if I register and can't
come?
A. These registrations are fully transferable - give it to
someone, or even turn it into a fundraiser for your organization with a
silent auction - gifts to non-profits are tax deductible. We only
ask that you let us know, as soon as you know the new attendee, so that
we can have correct name tags, etc. Also, if the gender of the
registration changes, rooms may need re-assigned. Change in
attendee registration is free - no extra charge. You are also
eligible for a partial refund (see next).
Q. What about a refund, if I so
desire?
A. Various refunds are available only until October 1. After
October 1, you surrender the total fee. See above - these are
still transferable.

From paid reservation until April 1, 2009, a full refund minus $10 fee.
From April 1-July 15, 2009, a refund of 50% is offered.
