Collating: Pages of a publication are printed singly, the required amount of copies at a time. They are then arranged into the proper sequence (we request numerical order).  Alt: Gathering or arranging printed sheets or signatures into the desired sequence, by hand or machine.

Plastic comb bound soft cover style exampleComb Bound: Soft type binding. Your pages and cover are punched and a plastic comb secures the book at the spine. This is a favored cover for cook books and the like because they lay virtually flat on their own. Click here for more information.

If possible, it's always a good idea to have your publisher selected before finalizing your color hard cover files. Though all cover art will need to allow for the thickness of the book board, as it folds around it and attaches to the inside (under the end sheets), variances in many other things will change the exact size and placement of elements on the cover layout. Additionally, even if returning to a publisher, don't assume the cover process hasn't altered in some way over time. For our current hard cover file information, visit http://www.gregthcompany.com/binding/art/hardcolorfiles.html

Don't lose sight of marketing (in any form or format) being an ongoing effort. Never look at a strategy as "one and done". It should continue and plans evolve - unless you have sold out of a planned, definitive edition and have no plans of ever again republishing.

Don't forget that any clipart used in a book sold for profit may be subject to Copyright restrictions. Even books sold by 5013c organizations as "fund raisers" should keep this in consideration and check all sources accordingly.
