Packing Ideas

Attendees will be staying in modern climate-controlled dormitories.  However, they will be venturing outside for meals and possibly other activities.  Due to the fact that the campus doesn't have covered walkways (though they are paved), keep in mind that one should pack for all types of weather.  Those that are native to the area know that in late October, almost any weather can strike.  From Indian Summer, to wind and rain, to sunny and cool.

If the attendee utilizes a walker, chair, or motorized cart/chair due to health, such items should be brought. Note: unless there is room to store such an item in the room (4-6 to a room), it will be left outside, exposed to the elements.

Couples traveling should pack separately -
they will be sleeping separately.

Below are some general suggestions.  It should by no means be taken as a "master list".

Linens:  Since the campus doesn't provide any linens, take a good look at what you usually require for 3 days and adjust accordingly.

Sample list:

sheets and blanket(s) or sleeping bag (bed roll)
pillow(s)
towels - bath, hand, etc. (washcloths)

Clothing:  Wear comfortable clothes - this is a retreat, not fashion week.  If you feel comfy in sweats, skirts, jeans, slacks, etc. - pack them! Because one will be in and out of buildings, some may think layers are a good idea, where others tend to plan for the inside and just have heavy outerwear. Some additional ideas: hat/cap, jacket/sweater/coat, raincoat/poncho, rain shoes/boots, pajamas, house shoes.

Note: The dorms do not have carpeting - the flooring is standard concrete.

Toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, deodorant, hairbrush/comb, hygiene items, lip balm, personal mirror, nail file/clippers/tweezers, razor, shampoo/conditioner/additional products, soap, sunglasses, glasses cleaner, contact lenses/solution.

Lawn Chair: Dorm rooms may not have seating other than beds.  Additionally, if you care to participate in evening entertainment, you'll need a chair.  Your seat of choice may also be more comfy than the provided chairs during sessions.

Snacks: Alternate food and drink choices may be brought.  Please remember there is no refrigeration available.
