Coated Paper: Paper is traditionally coated on two sides and is broadly used for all types of printing, included multicolor work.  Lately, paper coated only on one side has become available and widely used as an economical measure.

Coil Bound: Soft type binding. Like comb binding method except a coil or spiral secures the book instead of a comb.

Sometimes overlooked, good font choices can add almost as much to a book project as clipart. There are font/typeface books and CD combos you can purchase that have unrestricted work. Old books, periodicals and catalogs may be either public domain or under expired Copyright as well that are resources for drop caps and initials. Sources of downloadable (copyright free or with permission) fonts abound.

Two UK Newspapers Now Available Online

The "Guardian," a famous UK newspaper, and the "Observer," the world's
first Sunday newspaper, are going digital.

So far, issues of the "Guardian" from 1821-1975 and the "Observer"
from 1900-1975 are available. In early 2008, both of the newspapers
will be online in their entirety (from 1821 for the former and 1791
for the latter). Both newspapers are searchable. Searching is free,
but you must buy a timed access pass to view entire articles.

Visit the "Guardian" website for more information:

Computer aid!?!

Not sure if files written in MS Office 2007 are compatible? The truth is that they are with a bit of work on your part. If you are running an older version of a program and try to open the 2007 file, it will prompt you do download a conversion program. If you are online, follow all directions - including downloading other updates first. Your computer can then convert the 2007 file to something your computer can work with. Word of warning though, if the file contains features that became available in 2007, your converted file won't have them.
