What's It Mean?
///////////////////////////////
Archival (Quality): The use of this term varies from the logical definition of the individual words to a wide variety of standards - always have a company explain their definition. Below is a definition from "Preserving Family Keepsakes Do's and Don'ts", Ilene Chandler Miller, 1996:
"A term that suggests a material or item is permanent, durable and chemically stable and therefore safe for the preservation of our keepsakes."
Art(work): Non-text material (in our shop, this excludes photographs) - may include such things as decorative lettering (not font related), drawings, ornamentation, tables, charts, sketches, maps, reproductions of documents, decorative borders, etc.

Design Inspiration - Specific
suggestions while deciding index entry/item framework:
///////////////////////////////
Blind entries/listings are cross references that have no actual page information. Many times blind entries are positioned at the beginning or end of an entry. A beginning example would be Smith, John see John Smythe; Abe 4, 6; Zach 3, 66.

Hybrid Continued: Disks can be placed in envelopes or slim-line jewel cases to be delivered (or shrink wrapped) with printed books, or spindles may be attached to the end sheets to secure a CD in a hybrid book. Content ideas for this include:
Family puzzles (crossword, find a word, etc.)

Marketing advice
///////////////////////////////
Promotion is the first step to selling. The best book in the world can be written, but if people don't know it is available, it won't sell. Consider formal copyright action as a quick and easy way to start spreading the word your book is for sale.

Genealogy ideas (Sage advice from V3#11)
///////////////////////////////
Don't isolate yourself. Work toward building a large network of genealogical friends and acquaintances. Attend meetings, workshops/seminars & fairs, if you are online - join an email list or two, etc. The larger the net you cast, the more help you can get back!.
