Standard Indexing Package

highlighted manuscript page

Whether we prepare your manuscript or not, you may wish to have us prepare an index for you. Standard package begins with a copy of your manuscript that has been highlighted with all entries to be found in finished index. This does include marking last names for all partial book text such as Paul and Sue Surname (Paul Surname, Sue Surname and Sue Nee). The final index manuscript pages typically are formatted like this:

Asbell, Ann 23, 98
    Thomas 1
    William 39
Barnes, Steven 100
Cavner, Abail 48

Unlike most indexers, we do not charge by the entry, for a standard index.  A loose average is used for computation - if your manuscript pages average around 20 names/entries or less, there is a standard cost of $1.25 per completed index page from your highlighted working pages. If your text averages more, desired format is different, or you wish us to work with a manuscript that has not been marked, fees can be quoted.  For standard and off standard indexes, our rate can be based on a set fee or per hour rate, whichever is least expensive.
