Here, we've cleaned up the picture (restoration), inserted two cameos, and identified everyone.
We can adjust the tone, if your original is too light or dark.
We can "airbrush" away those scars or blemishes,
and tone down or remove glare.
Pricing will vary according to amount of
work needed. An average is about $25.
If we don't feel we can make much improvement, there is no charge.
(free
appraisals)
We prefer to work from
originals, but can
work from pre-scanned photos,
provided they are scanned at least 400 dpi, and saved on a CD, DVD, 3 1/2 floppy
or compatible memory stick. Online file
transfer can be arranged. We do not accept e-mailed pictures at
this time.
We can print out the results, provide you with the file saved on a CD, or both.
Custom photo services are offered to anyone interested and is not exclusive to our publishing packages. However, authors who wish restoration work may get their work done for little or no extra expense above basic photo services.
Some Examples:
Resizing: Enlargements or Reductions
Cropping
Lightening
Darkening
Digital Framing
Custom Photo Shapes - oval, round, diamond, etc.
Multi-Generational Photo Production (cameo example above)
Insert images/objects (cameo example above)
Remove photo aging (yellowing)
Archival Identifying (example above)
Removing or blurring (for that "artistic" look) background
More!!
Bare in mind that all this and more can be done without altering your original photograph at all. If you are handy with a scanner, we need not even see the original picture to do much of this work.
We sometimes receive instructions to enlarge or reduce to a specified size without cropping and it is not preferable to comply, because without cropping, the size specified cannot be reached from the original without warping the outcome. Enlargement or reduction should only be done overall, not in only one direction. When we face such a problem, we use the largest dimension, and let the smaller fall where it may. [If 3"x5" is specified, when we get to the 5" measurement, the requested 3" may be less than 3".]
