It seems like everyone is ready to snap photos - with cameras, video recorders, or phones. As the vast majority of photograph "originals" are digital in the 21st Century, adding informative captions or other content to traditional photo books is a natural upgrade! Even traditionally published hard or softbound photo books can contain "do it yourself" photo corners or archival sleeves for later additions. Utilize a 3-ring binding and later additions are a snap!

In today's digital world, traditional publishing is even coming to be a solution to "extra copy" archiving. As you digitize shoe boxes of photos, file drawers of documents, albums of yellowing newspaper clippings and cards, and stacks of letters, consider publishing a book - or books, allowing everyone to have a copy. As time goes by, it's surprising how many archival "copies" get discarded. The more you share, the better the chances of your work being preserved and enjoyed.
