Fredrea Gregath CookFredrea Gregath Cook attended Northeastern State Teachers College (currently Northeastern State University), Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, Miami, Oklahoma. She is a published author of genealogical and historical material, including college level textbooks. Fredrea has developed and taught genealogical research and writing courses of study at colleges and universities and is one of Gregath Company's speakers. Her love of history has provided unique perspective in the family publishing business. Fredrea is busier than ever with historical projects, upon her 2010 retirement from Gregath Company. Mrs. Cook is the third generation to have been involved in both genealogical and historical research, writing, teaching, lecturing, and touring, as well as the printing and publishing industry. She is active in numerous patriotic and lineal organizations, as well as local community groups. A small sampling of her organizational membership include the Genealogical Speakers Guild, National Genealogical Society, Association of Professional Genealogists, and the Ottawa County Genealogical Society. SessionsBuilding a US Census History to Assist Your Research You can place generations of your family in a given area through the use of Federal Census records. Preparing a complete census history for each generation of one's family tree is highly recommended. This session will deal with building the census history for one's genealogical research. When one passes, they are referred to as having died Testate or Intestate, which will be examined. This session will overview the difference between a Will and Probate. A greater understanding of these items should be quite helpful in using these fantastic records normally house at the county courthouse.

Preparation to Improve Effectiveness at Physical Repository Managing one's time during a research trip is so very important in achieving maximum results. This session will deal with some of the things to do in preparation for a visit to a repository. |
