This session will cover how to approach museums and historic sites when doing research. A museum can be an excellent resource to any researcher or genealogist. They may house photographs, artifacts, newspapers, records, city/county directories, family bibles, books, etc. that may have belonged to an ancestor, family member, or includes information on your family. An important factor to conducting research at a museum or historic site is not only what may be housed inside, but knowing who to ask and when to ask certain questions to obtain the information you are looking for at the museum or historic site. The museum matters greatly in any type of research, but especially helpful to any genealogist.
